He’ll generally have Fly, Fireball, Scorching Ray, Bull Str., Web and a Ray spell or two, but isn’t married to anything…he’ll sub in what he can when needed.
Wields a Masterwork Cold Iron Longsword which he charges with his arcane powers. He’s aware he’s shouldn’t be a frontline melee combatant, but his skill set requires he be at least near the frontlines of any combat. He’s able to deal with a better swordsman through magicial means and with a better caster through his sword…so he’s aware of his limitations.
Riku is a Magus who showed arcane promise from an early age. He was interested in both the martial and arcane paths…although at first much better suited to the arcane.
The training was intense and took place over a period of years, but now well into his career, Riku is one of the few who remain active from his graduating class.
He’s bounced around performing a number of duties for a number of employers – but working alone wasn’t nearly as much fun as when he worked with a group. With a group he was able to see things and do things that he’d never of chanced on working solo. It also was safer in a way, as he now had people who’d watch his back, rather than always having to watch out for himself.
